Onion Uttapam!! My all favorite dish that I often make it for breakfast. Onion uttapam is the simple way of doing uttapam. You can make this with only 3 ingredients. Dosa batter, tomato, and oil are enough to make tasty and yummy onion uttapam. Popular uttapam variety with onions.
Uthappam is South Indian Breakfast pancakes that are most often made with Dosa batter. Uttapam is one of the most eaten South Indian foods for breakfast or snack.

Onion Uttapam tastes best when served with different types of chutneys and sambhar. However, unlike Dosa, Uttapam is little thicker and is topped with different types of veggies like onion, tomato, capsicum, carrot, green chili, sweet corn etc.
Here I explained Onion Uttapam recipe with a step by step procedure with a clear photo.

Servings - 1
Preparation Time - 5 minutes
Cooking Time - 20 Minutes


Dosa Batter - 1 cup
Onion - 2
Oil - 4 tbsp


Step 1: Chop the onion into fine pieces.

Step 2: Heat a dosa pan and spread some oil all over the pan.

Step 3: Pour the dosa batter into the pan. Make a thick base.

Step 4: Now add chopped onions and pour some oil. You can also saute the onion and add.

Step 5: Cook it in low flame for about 2 to 3 minutes. Flip the uttapam.

Step 6: Let it cook in a medium flame for 3 minutes and take out. Repeat the same for remaining batter.
Step 7: Serve the Tasty and yummy Onion Uttapam with chutney.
