Garlic Chutney Recipe|How to make Garlic Chutney

Garlic Chutney is the healthy chutney among all other chutney. It has many health benefits. You can store this chutney for a week and can use. It is a spicy one, so you just need less quantity than compared with other chutney variety. Making garlic chutney is very simple.
The ingredients need for garlic chutney is, garlic, red chili, tamarind, sugar, oil, curry leaves, mustard seeds, and salt. If you make and store it in your refrigerator then, you can use it for 2 weeks also. It is your wish if you wish you can make it a spicy one else go with mild spicy chutney.
Here I explained a recipe of Garlic chutney with measurements of ingredients and with a step by step procedure for how to make garlic chutney with a clear photo.
Servings - 2
Preparation Time - 10 Minutes
Cooking Time - 10 Minutes


Garlic - 1 cup(or)100 gms
Red chili - 4 to 5
Tamarind - Turkey berry sized
Brown sugar - 1/4 tbsp
Oil - 3 tbsp
Mustard seeds - 1/2 tbsp
Curry leaves - 1 sprig
Salt to taste


Step 1: Soak red chili in warm water for 5 minutes.

Step 2: Grind soaked red chili in a mixer jar.

Step 3: Then add garlic cloves, sugar, salt and tamarind to the mixer jar and make a fine paste with adding little water.

Step 4: Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds. Let them Crackle.

Step 5: Add curry leaves and leave it for a 10 sec.

Step 6: Finally, add the ground paste and cook for 10 minutes in a medium flame. Stir often.

Step 7: Switch off the flame once the oil segregates from the chutney.

Tasty spicy garlic chutney is ready to serve. Serve it with dosa, idly, paniyaram, chapati, and rice also go well for this garlic chutney.
